On Wheels with Warren Brown

Listen to WMET 1160 Tuesdays Noon - 1:00 PM

Warren Brown

The Nation's Capital regulates every single car and truck sold in America. "On Wheels" will speak to that truth. Equally important, On Wheels will pay particular attention to the voices of those people who buy most of America's cars and trucks-black, brown, red, yellow, olive, female and gay people-but who are seldom invited to participate in automotive policy discussions. This is especially appropriate considering the origins of the show, the Washington Metropolitan Statistical Area, home to an estimated 4.6 million people, the vast majority of whom are of color.

That does not mean On Wheels will give short shrift to whites. White is a color, too. But it does mean that On Wheels will be deliberately inclusive of people of color-seeking out, speaking with and listening to African-American, Arab-American, Asian-American, Latin American and women executives and leaders in the global automotive industry...as well as white male leaders and executives.

On Wheels will discuss individual products. After all, it is a car show. But it embraces the notion that the car show genre does not have to be all about more horsepower, more speed, and Walter Mitty race track fantasies.

On Wheels recognizes that we live and drive in a world of limits-corporate, environmental, financial, legal, political, retail, societal, and technical. We will address those realities. Cars and trucks will be discussed within those contexts. We will neither be foolish, nor fuelish.

We'll cover all aspects of the industry. We'll have fun. We'll be frank...and civil. We will rock the boat, and we invite you to rock it with us.
